Principal Corner July

It has been a wonderful year and our students have worked very hard to learn and master their grade level Standards. Even though it is July, our Lions continue to strive to do their personal best! We appreciate your support in making sure that our children come to school daily and on time. Working together, we achieve success.

Summer school is one of the best interventions that we have for helping our students to meet grade level standards. By now, you should have received an application for summer school if your child is an eligible first or third grader. If summer school was recommended by your child’s teacher, it is critical that he/she attends from July 25 through August 19th. Classes will be held at Mason from 7:50 to 12:10. There will be a free breakfast program during summer school and lunch will be served from 12:10 PM to 12:30 PM.  Lunch is free to all students and children under 18 years old. If you need more information, call our school office.

Please begin thinking about how you will support our school next year because your  involvement is essential to our student achievement. As we face another year of budget constraints, we depend on you to help keep our students achieving at high levels! We are asking that all parents/families join the PTA and volunteer at least 3 hours during the year. Please commit to doing your part!

Next year, we will continue to expect each healthy child to attend school every day on time. As you make family plans, please check our school calendar which is posted @ http://www.sandi.net/mason/  to help you to schedule vacations and appointments when school is not in session. Lions who earn perfect attendance will be recognized at our monthly Den Meetings.  Not only do student absences cost the school a great deal of money, but we cannot educate our children who are not here. Students with greater attendance perform better in school and will help to create a more reliable work force in the future.
